Paediatric Physiotherapy

Paediatric Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy helps children with biomechanical, positional and sports injuries.

How we can help

Paediatric Physiotherapy is a clinical area of physiotherapy that aims to improve a child’s movement abilities through the use of methods such as movement training, strengthening, exercise, stretching, intensive therapy programmes, adapted equipment, motor learning and play as well as education.

During your initial appointment your physiotherapist will:

1. Comprehensive Assessment 💬

Our experienced paediatric physiotherapists will commence by discussing your child's relevant medical history or mechanism of injury with you. We will discuss both of your concerns and developmental milestones to understand your child's injury history, allowing us to tailor their treatment plan to their unique needs and ensure a holistic approach to their care.

2. Thorough Examination
 📋

Next, we'll conduct a comprehensive physical examination of your child focusing on their specific developmental stages and functional abilities. This thorough examination allows us to accurately pinpoint the underlying causes of their symptoms and tailor our treatment approach accordingly.

3. Provisional Diagnosis
 📝

Based on the assessment, we'll establish provisional diagnoses to guide our treatment approach. Our goal is to provide you with a clear understanding of your child's condition and the individualised interventions needed to support their recovery and development.

4.
 Personalised Treatment Plan 📅

With your child's diagnosis in mind, we'll devise a personalised rehabilitation and treatment plan specifically tailored to address their needs and goals. Collaborating closely with you, we'll integrate evidence-based techniques and age-appropriate exercises to promote your child's physical development and overall well-being.

5. Hands-On Therapy
 ✋

During your child's session, our paediatric physiotherapists will engage them in interactive and age-appropriate activities to facilitate their movement and growth. Through engaging exercises, hands-on techniques, and creative interventions, we aim to make the therapeutic experience enjoyable and beneficial for your child.

6. Education and Empowerment
 🎓

Finally, we'll provide you with valuable education and support to empower you as a parent or caregiver. We'll equip you with practical strategies and resources to continue supporting your child's progress at home and in their everyday activities, fostering their independence and resilience as they navigate their developmental journey.
